Sewing Sister's Ministry
Wellspring UMC, Rm 4B
A New Praying Ministry for Wellspring
As anyone who has attended a Wellspring service in the past five years can attest, we are indeed a Praying Church. Therefore, a group of ladies, calling themselves Sewing Sisters, has launched a new Prayer Shawl ministry.
The Sewing Sisters meet most Tuesday afternoons at Wellspring UMC to sew, iron, match fabrics, decide how individual pieces may be used.
Several months ago some of the sisters presented 20 pillowcases each to Avalon Domestic Violence shelter and the foster children’s center. We have also received a few larger sized quilts which we have washed, mended, and are seeking homes for.

If you would like to give a prayer shawl/lap quilt to someone, please see a Stephen Minister, Mary Johnson, or Beth Burroughs. We also accept donations of fabric and quilt batting, and some quilts in good condition. We welcome additional stitchers as we have ideas for more projects than we will ever have time for.
